AI appointment setters on X: how agencies run 1 to 20 accounts from one screen

An AI appointment setter on X needs someone to send the first message. How agencies run 1 to 20 X accounts for clients, the costs, and what the tool won't do.

An AI appointment setter can only answer chats that already exist, and on X most of them do not exist yet. Xsender sends the first message from 1 to 20 X accounts, each inside its own daily cap. Your setter, a person or an AI agent, takes the replies from there. Ten accounts cost $264 a month.

We make Xsender, so read this page as our pitch. It also lists what the tool does not do, so you can rule us out in a minute if it is the wrong fit.

What a setter needs on X first

A setter qualifies people who wrote back and books the call, which only works once there is a conversation. On X, an agency usually has to open the chat itself, one first message per lead, and X caps how many of those each account can send.

That first step is the part we automate. You pick leads from the database or upload your own, and Xsender sends your message from each connected account, skipping anyone already messaged. On Scale, the plan for 2 to 20 accounts, an AI agent can work the inbox through our API, reading conversations, tagging them and sending replies. If your clients' leads live on Instagram or WhatsApp rather than X, we are not the right buy.

How many accounts a client campaign needs

Each X account can send a fixed number of first messages a day to people who do not follow it, set by its plan. The right column shows the most one account can send in a 30 day month:

X planFirst messages a dayMost in 30 days
Free.7.210.
Premium, $8 a month.35.1,050.
Premium Plus, $40 a month.75.2,250.
Premium Business, from $200.500.15,000.

Real accounts send less than the maximum. On the 46 customer accounts we ran from 2 July to 5 October 2026, a typical one sent about 28 first messages a day. That is roughly 850 a month. So ten Premium accounts give about 8,500 first messages a month.

At the 1.2% our users averaged from 23 August to 22 September 2026, that would be around 100 replies a month for your setter. Your script and list decide the real number. How many X accounts you need for outreach has the full sums.

What it costs per account

The price per account falls as you add accounts, from $59 for one to $20 each at twenty. Prices are monthly, from our pricing page on 5 October 2026:

AccountsPer monthPer account
1.$59.$59.00.
2.$94.$47.00.
5.$173.$34.60.
10.$264.$26.40.
20.$400.$20.00.

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You add a card at checkout, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime. Past twenty accounts, ask the founder for a price. Put what a human setter costs you next to $20 an account, keeping in mind that the tool sends and your setter still has to close.

How the workflow runs

You set up each account once, and after that the sending runs every day. These are the steps in order:

  1. Upload a CSV of X handles for each campaign.
  2. Write up to five versions of the message, with tags like {{firstName}}. Our 12 cold DM scripts are free to copy.
  3. Connect each X account through the Chrome extension, signed in to X yourself. No passwords are stored.
  4. Set sending hours for each campaign and a daily number per account, or let the tool read each account's cap from X.
  5. Watch sent DMs, failed sends and reply rate per account, and pause any account with one click.
  6. On Scale, pull results and work replies through the public API docs.

What it does not do

Some limits will rule us out for some agencies, so here they are before you start a trial:

  • No white label. Clients get no login or branded dashboard, so you report results to them yourself.
  • No team seats today. One login runs the workspace, so setters share it or work through the inbox API.
  • Chrome must stay open. Each account runs in its own Chrome profile on a computer that stays on, and a spare or remote computer works.
  • One internet address per computer. There is no proxy setting, so every account on one computer shares its address.
  • No lead finder and no follow-ups. You bring the list, and X lets one message into a pending request, so the tool sends one first message per lead.

If you need sending with every computer off, or more than 20 accounts, a cloud tool may fit better. How we compare with Xreacher sets out the trade.

What X allows, and our record

X's automation rules say "You may not send unsolicited Direct Messages in a bulk or automated manner". That covers every tool, ours too. X also caps one person at ten accounts with different purposes, but it lets social media managers run accounts for clients.

From 2 July to 5 October 2026, none of the 46 X accounts Xsender ran was suspended. 9 had a temporary phone or puzzle check. That is a record, not a promise.

If those limits fit and your client's leads are on X, run one client's accounts through the trial and judge the replies after a week. What a good reply rate looks like on X helps you set that client's expectations before the first send.

FAQ

Can an AI appointment setter work on X, not just Instagram?

Yes, once it has replies to work with. Xsender sends the first message from each X account inside its cap, and the AI setter or a person takes the conversation from there.

Can I connect my own AI agent to the inbox?

On Scale, yes. An AI agent can use the inbox API to read conversations, tag them, send replies, and pull sends and outcomes.

Can I run client accounts and my own from one login?

Yes. Give each client its own campaign, with its own accounts, hours and daily number. X allows social media managers to run accounts for clients.
